Michael Ray Brawley
Michael Ray Brawley, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A mechanic, he was born March 27, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; two sons, Robert C. Brawley and Patrick M. Brawley; two daughters, Kelly M. Graft and Ashley Brawley; his mother, Opal L. Brawley; one brother, Robert J. Brawley; and one sister, Linda A. VanOordt.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Susan Leann Brown
Susan Leann Brown, 44, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. A homemaker, she was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Omaha, Neb.
She is survived by one daughter, Savannah Leigh Moore, her mother, Barbara Knapp, and two sisters, Sheryl Brown and Connie Heinz, all of Las Vegas.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
David F. Cofer
David F. Cofer, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired food and beverage manager.
He is survived by his companion, Nancy Robbins; three sons, David Bradley Cofer, Mike C. Cofer and Sgt. Maj. Mark Cofer; three daughters, Cindy Streed, Cathy Scheib and Carla Nichols; and numerous grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Rex D. Crawford
Rex D. Crawford, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A retired security officer and a World War II veteran, he was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
He is survived by one daughter, Kristine Clevenger of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Mae Everts
Myrtle Mae Everts, 80, of North Las Vegas died April 26 in a local care center. She was born May 4, 1923, in Rapid City, S.D. A resident for 54 years, she was a retired taxicab dispatcher.
She is survived by one son, John Cowman of Las Vegas; one daughter, Terry Huntington of Henderson; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Harold Calvin Gallant
Harold Calvin Gallant, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 23, 1924, in Ann Arbor, Mich. A resident for 15 years, he was a chrome plater and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Tretha; two sons, Robert Whitehead of Anaheim, Calif., and Duane Whitehead of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two daughters, Judith Bendrat and Lois Abner, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Gallant of Hemet, Calif.; three sisters, Maxine Becker of Ithaca, Mich., and Norma Fisher and Joyce Miller, both of Lansing, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Richard Hoxsie
Richard Hoxsie, 75, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 12, 1929, in Anaheim, Calif. A resident for six years, he was a retired county deputy marshal.
He is survived by one son, Richard Walker of Henderson; two brothers, Bob Hoxsie of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Jim Hoxsie of Escondido, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Lou Signer of Cypress, Calif., and Diane Hoxsie of Huntington Beach; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Warm Springs Baptist Church, 2075 W. Warm Springs Road. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
John Karriger
John Karriger, 76, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Albuquerque. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired power plant operator, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of A.A.
He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Foreman of Point, Texas, and Barbara May of Hickory, N.C.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Frank Watson Kelland
Frank Watson Kelland, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 14, 1928, in Los Angeles. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired Coast Guard chief petty officer.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Aileen Witt Atkin-Kelland of Las Vegas; four sons, Frank Earl Kelland of Orem, Utah, Gary Atkin of Parker, Colo., Keith Atkin of Henderson and Donald Atkin of Springville, Utah; two daughters, Janet Atkin-Covington of Henderson and Dorothy Loveless of Springville; one sister, Frances Carlsen of Twin Falls, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 service Thursday in the LDS Robindale chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Mario Lopez
Mario Lopez, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 25, 1945, in Argentina. A resident for 10 years, he was a bricklayer.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Santos-Lopez, Eduardo Lopez, Leonardo Lopez and Marcela Quezada, all of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 6 p.m. service today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.
George L. Miller
George L. Miller, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born April 23, 1929, in North Tonawanda, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired factory worker and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Michael Miller of Pendleton Township, N.Y.

Ronald C. Nickel
Ronald C. Nickel, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Michigan. A resident for five years, he was a computer tech for a bank security company, a Navy veteran and a member of the Nellis Junior Majors Bowling League Coaches Association.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Edward Nickel and Bryant Chad Nickel; and three daughters, Christy Lynn McDougald, Angelena Julie Nickel and Joanna Cheryl Nickel.

Robert M. Nix
Robert M. Nix, 74, of Boulder City died May 4 in a local hospital. He was born May 26, 1929, in Wilmar, Calif. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired electrician and a member of the Boulder City Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, Bruce Nix of Las Vegas and Bryan Nix and Michael Nix, both of Boulder City; one stepdaughter, Suzan Slaughter of Boulder City; two stepsons, Dan Evans of Washington, D.C., and Doug Evans of Las Vegas; one brother, David Nix of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Helen Oakes
Helen Oakes, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1937, in Glen Cove, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired aerospace methods engineer.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one son, Cecil Parson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sharon Harker of Beaufort, N.C.; two sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.
David R. Ponce Sr.
David R. Ponce Sr., 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 29, 1921, in the Philippines. A resident for eight years, he was a retired teacher.
He is survived by two sons, David R. Ponce Jr. and Sandy P. Ponce; four daughters, Marivic Leo, Pearl P. Ponce, Rema P. DeLaCruz and Rose P. Umali; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Edward G. Reed
Edward G. Reed, 48, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 13, 1956, in Delta, Colo. A resident for 22 years, he was a wire and cable warehouse manager.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley "Toni" Shultz-Reed; three daughters, Kristin Hemsley of Las Vegas, Robin Shultz-Martin of Castaic, Calif., and Amber Guckenberg of Kalispell, Mont.; one son, Ryan Reed of Columbia Falls, Mont.; her father, Clarence Reed of Kalispell; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Taylor Wachob-Dugger
Taylor Wachob-Dugger, 2 months, of Sandy Valley died May 4 in a local hospital. He was born March 3 in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his mother, Kelli Wachob of Sandy Valley; his father, Richard Dugger of Walla Walla, Wash.; and his grandparents, Becky and Randy Wachob and Linda Brown, all of Washington state.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
