Teen arrested in shooting death
A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday in the slaying of a man inside a condominium near Valley View Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road Friday afternoon.
Branden Tabile was also charged with attempted robbery and two counts of possession of stolen property, Lt. Tom Monahan said.
James Greene, 50, was found dead inside his home on Gaylord Drive after a visitor noticed bullet holes in his front door Friday.
The sound of gunfire was heard by neighbors a few nights earlier, but police were not called.
Tabile was taken into custody at his apartment in the 3600 block of Valley View and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Woman killed in Pahrump crash
A 52-year-old woman was killed and two others critically injured late Monday afternoon after their vehicle overcorrected and rolled on State Route 160 near Pahrump.
The vehicle was traveling north around 4 p.m. when the male driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll several times and eject the driver and a female passenger, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name had not been released this morning.
The driver and a second female passenger were flown to University Medical Center, where the driver was immediately rushed into surgery, Hixson said.
Both the driver and second female passenger were listed in critical condition, he said.
Girl hit on bike remains in coma
An 8-year-old North Las Vegas girl who was hit by a car last week while riding her bike remained in critical condition Monday.
Justine Steffee, a third grader at Elizabeth Wilhelm Elementary School, is in a coma, North Las Vegas police said this morning.
She was struck by a speeding car while riding her bike home from a friend's house after school, police said. She underwent brain surgery Friday at University Medical Center.
The driver of the car that hit Justine, 29-year-old Kimberly Bunch, has not been charged pending results of a blood alcohol test that are expected to be received this week, police said.
