Community association luncheon scheduled
Community Associations Institute is hosting a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cambridge Community Center, 3930 S. Cambridge St., featuring parks and recreation and the public's different resource opportunities for communicating with neighborhood services and county government.
Guest speakers include Virginia Valentine, assistant county manager, and Dan Heraldo with six other representatives from Neighborhood Services.
Admission is $20; $22 for nonmembers; $25 at the door for members and nonmembers.
The purpose of the Community Associations Institute is to educate community association managers, the boards that govern these associations and the homeowners living in them.

Discussion planned on Summerlin
Regis University will host "Summerlin: What's on the Horizon," a discussion from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the university's Summerlin campus, 10750 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 170.
The panel will introduce and discuss community topics including Summerlin's community identity; residential and business community development; recreation, restaurant and entertainment venues, education in Summerlin and other growth issues.

SCORE offering business advice
The Southern Nevada Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives will be presenting "How to Really Start Your Own Business," a seminar at 9 a.m. Thursday at the City Centre building, 400 S. Fourth St., Suite 250A
SCORE counselors will cover marketing, cash flow, the business plan and a check list for licensing, permits and other requirements.
