Letter: Consumers pay for raising wages

I'm writing in reference to the April 28 letter by Patricia Ducharme, in which she supported a dollar-an-hour increase in the minimum wage.
When the minimum wage goes up, it is consumers who must bear the cost. Companies forced to pay higher wages pass the costs on to their customers.
Minimum wage is meant for kids still in high school or recent graduates.
