Suspects sought in shooting

Metro Police were looking for a man and a woman Tuesday afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting in the parking lot of Ice Las Vegas, a nightclub near Harmon Avenue at Koval Lane.
About 12:40 p.m., two men were standing in the parking lot when one of them shot the other then jumped into a car driven by a woman, Metro Lt. Tom Monahan said. The car was silver and resembled a Lincoln Town car, Monahan said.
Neighbors heard gunshots and called 911. Police found the victim still alive but he died shortly after arriving at University Medical Center.
His name had not been released Wednesday morning.
The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Lana Avenue, behind the nightclub, but Monahan said it doesn't appear the victim or the suspects had any connection to the club.
Randy Lopez, who lives across the street from the club in a small apartment building, said he heard about five shots and looked outside.
"I saw a man face down on the ground and I heard him say 'Why did you do that to me, man?"' Lopez said. "I feel sorry for him."
Lopez said that immediately after the shooting he saw a car leaving the parking lot with its passenger side door open.
The gunman was described as heavyset with a ponytail and a goatee, and appeared to be Hispanic, police said. The woman with him was also heavyset and appeared to be Caucasian, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro's homicide section at 229-3521.
