Man charged in identity theft

A 38-year-old Las Vegas man is named in a 12-count indictment released today charging him with identity theft and tax evasion.

The indictment alleges Duane Camilo King, 38, used a false Social Security number while working as a nightclub disc jockey at the Luxor from 1999 to 2001 and as a worker for Sprint in 1998.

During those years King did not file tax returns for the money he made at those jobs, federal prosecutors said.

The indictment also alleges King used the false Social Security number in purchasing a $441,150 home, buying a 2001 Mercedes valued at $55,690 and purchasing two semi-automatic pistols.
