North Las Vegas Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 28-year-old man wanted in connection with a murder in March.
Jerry Salas was arrested March 25 and charged in connection with the slaying of Gerardo Ojeda-Garcia but was later released when witnesses did not show up at his preliminary hearing, Officer Tim Bedwell, spokesman for the department, said.
Since then, witnesses have been located and have provided information needed for the warrant to be issued,
Police are looking for help in locating Salas. He is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches, 180 pounds with a medium build. He has a number of tattoos including a teardrop under his left eye and several on his neck including one that says "if this world were mine."'
Salas has prior convictions for firearms possession and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Anyone with information on Salas' whereabouts can call the North Las Vegas Police at 633-1773.
