Malls will become Amber Alert sites

The Boulevard and Meadows malls soon will serve as Amber Alert posting sites to help authorities search for missing children.
The program is expected to be in place at the malls within three months.
Once a child is declared missing, local law enforcement agencies or the Web site BeyondMissing.com will issue a broadcast statement to the participating malls.
Then the mall's public safety team will post the alert in a high-traffic area within the mall. About 15.5 million people pass through both malls each year, Sims said.
The Amber Alert program also includes notices on digital highway signs and in other public areas.
