Letter: Driver should get jail time

I believe this woman should face a serious charge. She should do jail time and she should lose her license for five years or more. At the very least, she should be held responsible for the child's medical expenses and care.

One has only to operate a car on the streets of Las Vegas to know that the drivers babbling into their cell phones are definitely impaired and are a danger to us all.

I hope that this little boy's situation will prompt the Legislature to pass a law banning drivers from using cell phones while operating vehicles, and I hope there will be stiff penalties for ignoring such a law.
