Noteworthy: Burst onto the scene in her first season and captivated the state with her scoring ability and flare for the game ... averaged 16 points, 3 assists and 3 steals per game ... scored 42 points in the state semifinals to break the 4A tournament record and tie the all-class mark ... a first-team All-Northwest Division selection ... helped the Bulldogs to their third consecutive state title.
Said Bulldogs coach Karen Weitz: "Italee is very creative, very athletic. She can make things happen; that's pretty obvious. She draws a lot of attention. She's an excellent passer and sees the floor very well."
Noteworthy: Unflappable floor leader of the balanced Centennial attack ... equally effective at the offensive and defensive ends, and at her best in the clutch for three-time state champion Bulldogs ... averaged 12.5 points, 3 assists and 2.5 steals per game ... a starter since her first season at Centennial ... third consecutive selection to the All-State squad, but her first nod to the first team after two second-team honors.
Said Bulldogs coach Karen Weitz: "Ashley, to me, is the most well-rounded player that I have. She's just an all-around player."
Noteworthy: The lone senior on the All-State first team, Knight shined for the Gaels all year, even as teams focused solely on stopping her ... voted Sunset Region MVP by coaches ... averaged 10.4 points per game, to go along with 6.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 4 steals ... shot 47 percent from the field ... led the Gaels to the Sunset Region championship game ... signed with Texas Christian to play college basketball.
Said Gaels coach Sheryl Krmpotich: "She did a lot of things that weren't even in the stats. She does so much for our team. She's quick as a cat. She was our motor."
Noteworthy: Probably the most dangerous one-on-one player in the North, Moore is a top-flight point guard ... amazing quickness and ability to break down the defense ... Northern Region and High Desert Division Player of the Year ... led the Raiders to the High Desert title and the 4A state semifinals ... scored 25 points to pace Reed in semifinal loss to Centennial ... averaged 18 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals per game.
Said Raiders coach Richard Shaw: "She just really made our whole team better. She led us in pretty much everything. She's just an overall good point guard and good player. She does a lot of scoring, but people overlook her ability to pass."
Noteworthy: Dominant post player with plenty of room to grow, both physically and on the court ... a year younger than her teammates in the junior class ... averaged a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds per game ... also averaged 4 blocks per game ... selected to the Northern Region and Sierra Division first teams ... already has two Division I scholarship offers ... upped scoring average to 16 points per game in playoffs as Huskies advanced to 4A title game.
Said Huskies coach Craig Campbell: "She has a huge upside. Her defensive instincts and just her full understanding -- she's further ahead mentally than physically. She really picked it up in crunch time and stepped it up in big games."
Noteworthy: The Bulldogs' program is a finely tuned machine under Weitz, who guided the team to its third consecutive 4A state title ... Bulldogs went 31-2 and did not lose to an in-state opponent ... in Weitz's five years at the helm, Centennial's record is 155-9 (.945) ... Centennial returns all but one key player (Karissa Fernandez) to next year's team, which looks to match Nevada record of four straight titles.
