Deal made in child porn case

The former Clark County employee charged with downloading child pornography on his work computer pleaded guilty to two felony charges Monday as the result of a plea deal.
Carl Lobsien, a former engineering technician at the county Public Works Department, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of a person under 16 years of age.
Lobsien, 50, faces a sentence of two to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced before District Judge Kathy Hardcastle on June 2, Chief Deputy District Attorney Jim Sweetin said.
In exchange for Lobsien's guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss an additional 23 counts of the same charge.
Authorities say Lobsien downloaded so many images of child pornography -- about 300 to 400 -- that the downloads caused the county's Internet system to crash last August.
