NEW YORK -- The National Association of State Treasurers, an organization that backed stronger corporate governance and disclosure rules for companies, has nominated six members for the New York Stock Exchange Board.
The six nominees have all been active with the group's committee on corporate governance, said Nevada Treasurer and association President Brian Krolicki.
The nominees are: Randall Edwards of Oregon; Michael Fitzgerald of Iowa; Krolicki; Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming; Jonathan Miller of Kentucky; and Denise Nappier of Connecticut.
The NYSE received about 100 candidates from public pension funds and other investors between March 10 and Thursday's deadline. The California Public Employees' Retirement System nominated a big name: Arthur Levitt, former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
