Concert to help child's family
LVRocks.com is putting on the "Show Some Love" concert from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday at the Beach, 365 Convention Center Drive, to benefit Tim and Geralyn Roberts, the parents of 5-year-old brain cancer patient, Kelsey Jane Roberts.
The event is intended to help relieve some of the financial burden that has fallen upon Kelsey's family as a result of her tragic illness.
Admission is $10.
Those who are unable to attend the concert and wish to make a donation can do so by mailing donations to: Kelsey Jane Roberts Medical Fund, c/o LV Rocks, P.O. Box 91553, Henderson, NV 89009.
Child fingerprint program planned
The Las Vegas Security Chiefs Association is sponsoring a fingerprinting event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Vons Grocery Store, 1940 Village Center Circle.
The purpose of the event is to obtain the fingerprints of children for archiving, which could greatly assist law enforcement in finding a missing or abducted child.

The Nevada Health Centers
is hosting an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to celebrate the opening of the Downtown Outreach Clinic, 403 W. Wilson Ave. The clinic will serve the primary care health needs of people who are homeless in Clark County. Light refreshments will be served. Call 307-5414.

The Astronomical Society
will present a slide presentation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Red Rock Canyon Visitors Center. Bring chairs, telescopes, binoculars, something hot to drink, and dress for weather. Call 515-5350.
Detroit Connection,
a nonprofit organization, will hold its sixth annual Scholarship Dinner Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Sunset Gardens, 3931 E. Sunset Road. To purchase $60 tickets, call Arletha Kerns at 240-3570 or Buford Pender at 228-3398.
"Get Moving with Ronald McDonald"
will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McDonald's, 7150 Craig Road. The interactive performance led by Ronald McDonald offers kids and families the opportunity to take part in fun-filled energetic activities including magic, music, dancing and games. The event is free and open to the public.
The Contemporary Arts Collective
has issued a Call for Work from all artists 18 years or older to participate in the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign design competition. The competition will pay $1,000 cash prize for the best design. The best entries will be exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Collective gallery from April 27 through May 31 at 101 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 101.
