State complaints dropped

The Nevada State Contractors Board dismissed two complaints against DR Horton after the home builder fixed cinder block walls that were cracking and falling down around an Anthem Heights home.
The complaints dropped Tuesday were for shoddy workmanship and for failure to comply with a notice to correct.
Jim Frasure, DR Horton's area division manager, offered to fix the walls after a January disciplinary hearing. At Tuesday's hearing the homeowner said the walls had been fixed to her satisfaction. Frasure also provided the board with the lot's permits and certifications.
Frasure told hearing officer and board member Spiridon G. Filios that while the company fixed the walls, poor drainage on three lots surrounding the home may have caused the failure of the walls. He said that without fixing the drainage, the walls could fail again.
Frasure called on the board to investigate the companies that installed the pool and surrounding landscaping.
