LV cantor takes stage at Orleans
Cantor Daniel Friedman of Temple Beth Sholom, who had a successful career as an actor and singer on Broadway and around the world, will join tenor Alberto Mizrahi in a performance at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Orleans.
Mizrahi, known as "The Jewish Pavarotti," has sung with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony and the Washington Choral Arts Society.
It is the first concert in the Songs of Life concert series begins. Call 498-9808.
School to perform 'Guys and Dolls'
Bishop Gorman High School will present a production of the musical classic "Guys and Dolls" at 7 p.m. Wednesday through April 1 and 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. April 3 at the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
"Guys and Dolls" is a musical fable of Broadway set in New York in the late 1940s.
Tickets are $10; $8 for students and seniors.

Clean-up planned at Lake Mead
The Lake Mead National Recreation Area is sponsoring the Great American Clean-Up Saturday, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by the clean-up from 9 a.m. to noon at Lake Mead's Government Wash, located just past mile marker 5 on Northshore Road.
The event encourages Americans to participate in hands-on activities that improve their communities, create healthier, cleaner and a safer environment across the nation. Bring gloves, water, sunscreen and a hat.
The event is also being sponsored by Take Pride in America, a national partnership initiative aimed at increasing volunteer service on America's Public Lands.

The Animal Foundation
is seeking foster parents for newborn kittens from the Lied Animal Shelter. The shelter will cover all costs for shots and any other treatment that may be required. In some cases, food will be provided. Call 385-7300 or 743-0816.
