Short film series
UNLV's Short Film Archive will host a screening of festival award-winning short films at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at UNLV's Architecture Building. Admission is free. 895-4735.
Art forum
The National League of American Pen Women present an art forum featuring five speakers from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at UNLV's Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Speakers include Robert Beckmann, Sue Altenburg, Rod Maly, Walt Blanton and Dina Titus. Admission is free. 435-3838.
Poets' Corner
Keith Brantley and Pendelita Toney host the Poets' Corner at 7 p.m today at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is free. 229-4800.
Spring festival
The Mexican Patriotic Committee of Las Vegas presents a "Spring Festival" from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Freedom Park at the corner of Washington and Mojave avenues. Admission is $5 adults, kids under 12 free, and entertainment includes music, games for the kids and a health fair. 649-1198.
Equinox gathering
The Intuition Network will sponsor a "Spring Equinox Gathering" at 7:30 p.m. today at the Summerlin Country Club. Admission is $10, but reservations are required. 228-7792.
'Desert and Self'
The University Forum Lecture series continues with "The Desert and the Self: A Trek to Bright Angel Point," at 7:30 p.m. Monday at UNLV's Barrick Museum Auditorium. Admission is free. 895-3401.
