Letter: Clinton’s budget was responsible

In responding to Orville Goplin's Feb. 27 letter, F. Jay Harrell in a March 3 letter said, "I agree that President Bush has wasted money like a drunken Democrat. But one can only imagine how much bigger the deficit would be if a real Democrat were spending it!"

If that isn't the most ridiculous statement I've ever read!

Who was it that balanced the budget and left a large surplus so President Bush could waste it? I believe it was a Democrat named Bill Clinton. If F. Jay Harrell wants to see how much bigger the deficit can get, he'll find out if George W. Bush gets re-elected.
