Education foundation offers scholarships
Wednesday, March 17, 2004 | 8:36 a.m.
The Clark County Public Education Foundation is offering more than 50 different scholarship programs for high school seniors planning to continue their education at an accredited college or university.
This year, the foundation estimates 144 students will receive awards ranging from $500 to $40,000 each.
Scholarships are provided by a cross-section of community leaders, businesses, organizations and individuals, and offer funds based on a variety of criteria including financial need, academic achievement and a student's planned area of study.
Sponsored fields of study include traditional areas such as business, education, technology, finance, science and the arts as well as various trade programs.
Students may apply for more than one scholarship.
The deadline to apply for most of the scholarships is March 19.
For more information about scholarships and applications, how to create and sponsor a scholarship or for information about the Clark County Public Education Foundation, call 799-1042 or visit the Foundation's website at www.ccpef.org.
