Seminar in Spanish set for home buyers
A seminar in Spanish for first-time home buyers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas.
Learn how to find an agent, what the purchase process is, how much you can expect in costs, where you can get help, what the advantages are to owning a house, and more. Call 633-1070.
Garden clubs plan Spring Plant Sale
The seventh annual Spring Plant Sale event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Sweet Tomato Test Garden, 5910 Sheila Ave.
Thousands of plants will be offered for sale by members of the local garden clubs and will include orchids and tropical plants, roses, famous tomatoes, herbs, fruit trees, shrubs, cactus, succulents, flowering annuals, house plants, gardening tools, soil, fertilizer and more.
Gardening experts, including master gardeners, biologists and horticulturists will be available to answer questions on a variety of subjects.

Schools to benefit from McTeachers Night
Participating area schools will receive a portion of sales between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at McDonald's restaurants during McDonald's fourth annual McTeachers Night fund-raiser.
The fund-raiser is designed to financially assist local schools. Each school's principal and up to 10 teachers will work at McDonald's restaurants, greeting customers, working the registers, and, in some cases, assisting in the kitchen.
The goal of the event is to raise more than $10,000 throughout Southern Nevada.
Gay wedding expo scheduled on Sunday
Pride Productions Inc. will host the second annual Las Vegas Gay & Lesbian Wedding Expo from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Your Parke banquet facility, 2002 Olympic Avenue, Henderson.
There will be over 50 service providers and product vendors. At 2 p.m. there will be a live commitment ceremony, and door prizes will be given out. Proceeds to benefit the Center.

Mexican committee to host Spring Festival
The Mexican Patriotic Committee of Las Vegas will host the Spring Festival and Health Fair from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Freedom Park, Washington Avenue and Mojave Road.
Admission is $5, children 11 years of age and under free.
