Nevada hunters who failed to turn in their big game questionnaires following last season's hunts have until Friday, March 19, to pay a $50 administrative fee or they will be ineligible to apply for big game tags this year.
"Hunters who obtain tags are required to submit questionnaires after their hunts. The information that our biologists receive from these questionnaires is critical in helping them to determine harvests and in recommending quotas for next season," said Patty Wagner, license office supervisor for the NDOW.
She said that a number of years ago, the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners decided to allow hunters to pay a $50 administrative fee if they failed to return their harvest questionnaire information by the deadline. Hunters who did not turn in their harvest information on time and who fail to pay the administrative fee will not be allowed to apply for tags this year.
Applications for big game tags, including deer, will be available by late March. This year's deadline for applying for tags is April 19.
Fees must be received by March 19 at the Nevada Department of Wildlife, License Office, 4600 Kietzke Lane, D-135, Reno, NV 89502. Information about the fees may be obtained by calling the office at (775) 688-1512.
