Sierra Pacific Resources received a below-average ranking in a new J.D. Power and Associates survey of electric utility satisfaction among small businesses.
Sierra Pacific, parent company of Nevada Power Co. of Las Vegas and Sierra Pacific Power of Reno, received a Customer Satisfaction Index score of 95, two points below the Western Region average. The study polled businesses that spend between $500 and $50,000 a month on electricity.
It is the highest score for Sierra since 2001 when its 104 score among businesses spending between $1,500 and $25,000 a month on electricity was 13 points above the regional average. Amid controversy from the Western energy crisis, the company's score fell to 89 in 2002 and 82 in 2003.
