Letter: Mike was a man of principle
Tuesday, March 9, 2004 | 9:12 a.m.
I knew Mike O'Callaghan only from his writing in your newspaper, but even from such limited contact I could tell he was a man of principle and integrity, and a man of the people. When someone dies, friends and acquaintances shower the departed with praise and kind words, whether deserved or not. I am overwhelmed by the tributes to Mr. O'Callaghan, which are universal and obviously sincere. This was truly a great man.
Sherman Frederick, publisher of the "other paper," said Gov. Mike "leaves a mark to which all future Nevada governors should aspire." I believe Mike O'Callaghan leaves a mark to which all men should aspire. Please pass along my condolences to his family and his extended family at the Sun.
