SALT LAKE CITY -- The UNLV women's basketball team played a near-perfect overtime period to pull off a 68-60 upset of Utah in Mountain West Conference action on Thursday night at the Huntsman Center.
The Lady Rebels snapped Utah's 27-game home winning streak and reached the 20-victory plateau for only the second time in 12 years.
UNLV, which improved to 9-4 and 20-6 and wrapped up the No. 3 seed in next week's conference tournament, shot 4-of-5 from the field and 13-of-14 from the free-throw line during the extra period.
Utah (11-2, 21-6) fell into a tie for first with New Mexico. The loss was the Utes' first at home since Jan. 31, 2002 -- ironically, another UNLV victory.
Sherry McCracklin posted her MWC-high 12th double-double of the year with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Sheena Moore finished with a game-high 21 points. InFini Robinson finished with 13 points.
Utah was paced by Kim Smith's 17 points and 10 rebounds.
