A one-way trip on the Las Vegas Monorail will cost $3 when the system opens, the operating company said in announcing a series of ride packages and introductory fares.
The monorail doesn't have a firm opening date, but it is expected to occur next month. Once the 3.9-mile mass transit system opens between the MGM Grand and the Sahara hotel-casinos, it will offer introductory fares for three months, with rates going up at the end of that period.
A single ride is $3, both introductory and standard, and a two-ride pass is $5.50 when the system opens and $5.75 after three months. A 10-ride pass will go for $20, climbing to $25.
A one-day pass will cost $10, rising to $15 after three months and a three-day pass will go for $25, climbing to $40.
During the introductory period, the monorail will operate daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, and after three months will be expanded to 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., the company said.
The 72-seat monorail trains also will have standing room for 152 riders.
