Regent Howard to host forum on education

University Regent Linda Howard will host a community forum to discuss access to higher education from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center in North Las Vegas.

The two-hour forum will solicit community feedback on current programs and provide information on financial aid and admissions, Howard said.

"My goal is to have students, parents and education leaders come together to discuss today's opportunities for a college education in Nevada," Howard said.

The forum will include University and Community College System of Nevada Chancellor Jane Nichols and Regent Howard Rosenberg, as well as representatives from the State Board of Education, Clark County School District, Community College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the University of Nevada, Reno.

Howard is encouraging members of the public to attend the forum.

The West Las Vegas Arts Center is located at 947 W. Lake Mead Boulevard, just east of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
