Science night set at Meadows School
A third grade science night featuring fun, cooperative hands-on science activities, lectures and demonstrations for the students and their parents will be 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Meadows Lower School Commons Room, 8601 Scholar Lane.
The event gives the students and parents an opportunity to work together and discover new and exciting ways of learning about science and performing hands-on science experiments.

Counterterrorism expert to speak
The Anti-Defamation League will present Sabi Shabtai, international authority on terrorism, at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Congregation Ner Tamid, 2761 Emerson Ave.
Shabtai has worked as an undercover trouble-shooter on five continents and served as the director of counterterrorist operations for the California-based office of special services.

Golden Gala set for Candlelighters
The Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer of Southern Nevada will hold its Golden Gala beginning with a silent auction at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Four Seasons Ballroom.
Honorees for the evening will be board member Robert Wengel and childhood cancer survivors Kyndel Gregory and Ryan Gadberry.
The organization provides support services to families with children with cancer, and exist to help families cope with all of the issues parents and children face when there is a cancer diagnosis and to maintain and improve the quality of life for the diagnosed child and for the whole family.

of the Italian American Club will hold its outdoor Flea Market and Swap Meet from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the front parking lot at the Italian American Club of Southern Nevada, 2333 E. Sahara Ave. Call 245-5111.
