Holocaust author will give two talks
Author Fern Schumer Chapman will discuss her book, "Motherland: Beyond the Holocaust, A Daughter's Journey to Reclaim the Past," at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane.
Chapman will also be appearing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. as part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's celebration of National Women's History Month.
"Motherland" is the true story of Edith Schumer, orphaned by the Nazis, and her return 52 years later to Germany with her daughter, Fern, who knew almost nothing of her mother's past.

Post 711, the oldest post in Nevada, is holding a membership drive, seeking honorably discharged Jewish veterans to join. The post focuses on helping disabled, indigent and hospitalized veterans of all race and color. For more information, call Sid Rosenman, 837-8001.
