Letter: Kerry’s Vietnam accusations show his true colors
Tuesday, June 29, 2004 | 8:32 a.m.
Sean Sabatini's defense of Sen. John Kerry's anti-war activities, in his letter published June 20, is ridiculous. Kerry spent four months in Vietnam, leaving the combat zone eight months before his tour was completed. Upon his return to the states, he testified that soldiers regularly committed atrocities in combat, most of which testimony has been proven to be completely false. Kerry even admitted that he committed war crimes.
On the other hand, President Bush announced the criminal prosecution of soldiers who mistreated prisoners under their control and condemned those who violated the law.
Kerry made false claims about the actions of American soldiers and admitted to having committed war crimes. President Bush truthfully condemned those who violated military law. If Mr. Sabatini cannot see the difference, he has his Bush-hating blinders on.
I am a veteran and I support President Bush.
