Senate candidates open to questions
The Charleston Neighborhood Preservation Association will host a question and answer session for U.S. Senate candidates from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the West Sahara Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., is expected to be on hand, along with challengers Thomas Hurst, Gary Marinch, Royle Melton, George Poliak, David Schumann, Cherie Tilley, Kenneth Wegner and Richard Ziser.

Korean culture hits Fremont Street
The Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles will present "Korean Cultural Night" event from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Fremont Street Experience, Third Street stage area.
The program will feature the renowned Chongdong Traditional Arts troupe who will perform a variety of traditional Korean folk dances, court dances and music. Live camera crews will capture the stage performances, which will be simultaneously displayed on the big screen of Viva Vision. In addition, a video highlighting Korean culture, music and tourism will be shown on Viva Vision.

Benefit scheduled for fire captain
Local area firefighters have joined together to celebrate the return of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Capt. Theo Adams, who was severely injured in the crash of a fire truck while responding to a call.
Firefighters have joined with local organizations and supporters to coordinate activities that will raise funds to meet his new lifestyle. The next event will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Terrible Herbst Car Wash, 7300 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Raffles, T-shirts, and other items will be available at the event.
Donations may be made to Theo through the following tax-exempt organizations: Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, Las Vegas Firefighter's Benefit Association, Las Vegas Firefighter's Local 1285, United Firefighters of Southern Nevada.

The free Theft and Fraud Prevention
fair for seniors will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Desert Breeze Park, Spring Mountain Road and Durango Drive. Activities and information provided are directed toward assisting Clark County seniors in risk reduction and preventing vehicle, identity theft and other forms of theft and fraud.
