Letter: Restraint shown in missile crisis
Tuesday, June 22, 2004 | 9:27 a.m.
The story depicts the struggle to find a peaceful resolution to this threat to our country that would also be in accord with what the rest of the world expected of us. Our military leaders strongly advocated that we strike first or it would be too late. The administration's position was "there has to be a better solution -- we just haven't thought of it yet."
The crisis was resolved without going to war, without security color codes. Maybe this is something to think about.
