Las Vegas gas prices unchanged; state average falls

Thursday, June 17, 2004 | 10:51 a.m.

After a string of increases, Nevada saw its gasoline prices decline over the past month, falling 3 cents statewide to an average of $2.22 for a gallon of regular unleaded, AAA Nevada reported Wednesday.

In Las Vegas, however, the average price was unchanged at $2.23 a gallon. The price also was unchanged in Henderson at $2.21 and up 1 cent to $2.22 in North Las Vegas.

The national average was down 4 cents to $1.97.

AAA said crude oil prices have declined in response to OPEC's announcement that it would increase production output. Also cited as a positive factor is the near capacity operation of California refineries, which supply fuel to Nevada.
