Rogers to recommend Miltenberger

Interim Chancellor Jim Rogers plans to recommend University of Nevada, Reno professor Pat Miltenberger as the interim president for Nevada State College at Henderson.
Miltenberger has worked with the state college on its accreditation from its inception, Rogers noted.
"She is knowledgeable about the college and its difficulties," he said.
Both Rogers and Regent Mark Alden, who will chair the committee for a permanent replacement for exiting president Kerry Romesburg, said Miltenberger's knowledge of the accreditation process will be an important asset for the college as faculty there continue to add new curriculum.
Rogers said Miltenberger was recommended to him by several different individuals, and that she has a long history of service to the university system both as an educational leadership professor and as the former vice president of student services at UNR, Rogers said.
"She's well known throughout the state as an effective leader," Rogers said.
Romesburg resigned earlier this month to accept the presidency of Jacksonville University in Florida. His last day is June 25.
The state Board of Regents is scheduled to vote on Miltenberger's appointment in a special meeting June 28.
