Public invited to check Enterprise land plan

Clark County is inviting Enterprise residents, builders and business operators to review proposed changes to the area's land-use plan at an open house June 26.

County staff will review the Enterprise land-use plan and explain changes that were incorporated into the proposed plan based on comments from the community since the update process for the area began last year.

The county anticipates major growth and development in Enterprise in the near future. The unincorporated county township in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley is home to large rural neighborhood preservation areas. Its location along Las Vegas Boulevard South also makes it a transportation and commercial gateway into the urban area.

Key issues up for discussion about the area include upcoming development projects, the railroad corridor, McCarran International Airport's Cooperative Management Area and transportation and zoning in the planning area.

Recommendations gathered during open houses will be forwarded to the Enterprise Town Advisory Board, the Planning Commission and the County Commission.

"Enterprise encompasses a wide variety of the growth and development issues facing us today," Commissioner Rory Reid said. "Although much of Enterprise is currently undeveloped, it won't remain that way with the coming growth and development in the area.

"Now is the time for people to make sure their comments and opinions are considered before the final map is submitted to the Board of County Commissioners," he said.
