Track adding slots
Friday, June 11, 2004 | 11:10 a.m.
The greyhound racing track plans to increase the number of slot machines from 2,200 to 2,400 throughout the casino on June 25, said Geoff Andres, president of Wheeling Island Gaming Inc., the track's parent company.
"We're actually capacity-constrained Saturday night," Andres said "We don't have enough machines."
The new slot machines will bring Wheeling Island to the maximum number allowed by the West Virginia Lottery Commission, Andres said, adding that commission approval would have to be obtained to go beyond the 2,400 limit.
