Letter: Pelosi speaks the truth about war

Circling the wagons around a president under fire is a time-honored tradition. But in their appeals to "staying the course" and "rallying around our troops," the Republicans are singing a tune that has long since fallen off the pop charts. Maybe they'd have a lasting hit if the reasons for going to war had been justified -- but hundreds of soldiers have died for lies. This is not a time to rally around anything but the truth, and the truth came out of Rep. Pelosi's mouth.

You would think that conservatives, allegedly the harshest purveyors of consequences for those in the wrong and the staunchest defenders of morality, would leap at an opportunity to defend their principles.

I do not stand for President Bush and his policies, and I think there are many others in Nevada who don't. We'll find out in November for sure.
