StumbleNewton wins in Laughlin

LAUGHLIN -- Ty Newton of Phoenix captured the featured Super Stocks class on the final day of powerboat racing Sunday at the seventh annual Laughlin River Days on the Colorado River.
Newton defeated fellow Arizonan Dave Bryant in the final for the flat-bottom, V-8-powered crafts.
Steve Tresticon of Huntington Beach, Calif., mastered the swift currents on the tight course and won the Cracker Box final. R.J. West of Manteca, Calif., claimed the Western Formula Lights final.
