First Friday

Documentary
The Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas presents the documentary "Scandalize My Name: Stories from the Blacklist," at 3 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is free. 229-4800.
Movie screening
Las Vegas resident and director/producer Stan Armstrong will show the movie, "Uptown Saturday Night" at 6 p.m. Thursday at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., as part of his ongoing program, "The Directing of Sidney Poitier -- A Study of Black Exploitation." Admission is free. 808-9195.
Family film
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will show the film "The Princess Bride" at 8 p.m. Monday in the ampitheatre of the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, as part of its ongoing "Moonlight, Movies and Music" series. Admission is free. 734-7323.
Acting classes
Clark County Parks & Community Services is offering free acting classes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday at Whitney Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave. Pre-registration is requested. 455-7576.
