Letter: Uniforms even playing field

It is truly a shame that the schools are not given authority to implement school uniforms. Harvard University did a study on this issue and just one of its many interesting findings was that uniforms put kids on an even playing field. The study also found that teachers were less biased toward the children.
In a day when money is tight and some people are finding creative ways in which things might actually improve, why do some people impede progress? These are the same people who will complain about the test scores being low.
Have you noticed that students at all the top, expensive private schools wear uniforms? The Clark County School Board should show some guts and do something to help.
