Music
Tony Scodwell
Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a performance by the Tony Scodwell Big Band at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. Tickets are $2 for the lawn, $3 for section C, $5 for section B, $7 for section A and $10 for orchestra. 267-4035.
Music festival
The following musical performances will be held at various locations around the UNLV campus this week as part of the Las Vegas Music Festival. For ticket prices, call 895-1575:
Saturday, 8 p.m. -- Opening concert by the Las Vegas Music Festival Orchestra at Artemus Ham Concert Hall.
Sunday, 8 p.m. -- Faculty chamber music at the Judy Bayley Theater.
Monday, 8 p.m. -- Piano recital at the Judy Bayley Theater.
Wednesday, 8 p.m. -- Faculty chamber music at the Judy Bayley Theater.
Community Band
The UNLV Summer Community Band will perform music ranging from traditional to patriotic at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $3 general, $2 seniors and students with ID. 455-7340.
Ronny Cox
Actor/musician Ronny Cox will perform at 8 p.m. today at Acoustic Routes, 2753 S. Highland Drive. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. 385-1232.
'Sounds of Summer'
The following groups will perform at The District at Green Valley Ranch Station Casino as part of its "Sounds of Summer" series. All acts are free. 851-3081:
10 p.m. today -- David "The Saxman" Brown, playing adult contemporary and R&B hits.
9 p.m. Saturday -- Nicholas Cole Trio, playing standards and adult contemporary hits.
Jazz concert
Aliante Homes presents the 2nd annual "All that Jazz" concert from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Aliante Nature Discovery Park. Admission is free. (866) 874-6394.
Dance
'In the Desert'
The Community College of Southern Nevada's Dance Program presents the 6th annual "Dance in the Desert Festival"at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., on the CCSN campus. A variety of dance ensembles throughout the West will perform. Admission for one show is is $10 general, $8 seniors and students; two shows, $18 general, $14 seniors and students; three shows, $24 general, $18 seniors and students. 651-5483.

'The Water'
Youth leaders in West Las Vegas Art Center's Performing and Visual Arts Camp star in "Take Me to the Water," a musical production, at 2 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is free. 229-4800.
'Schoolhouse Rock'
"Schoolhouse Rock Live!" will be performed at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Library Concert Hall, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Admission is $6 in advance and $8 at the door. 768-5205.
