Karen Wheeler
Karen Wheeler, president of the Vegas Artists Guild, will have her art displayed from Monday to Sept. 2 at the Twin Lakes Gallery, 3343 W. Washington Ave. Admisison is free. 229-6601.
Holography exhibit
"The Nature of Holography," an exhibit featuring images of butterflies, birds, lions and other wildlife, will continue until Sept. 5 at the Nevada State Museum & Historical Society, 700 Twin Lakes Drive. Admission is $4 adults, $3 seniors, free for children 17 and under. 486-5205.
Peter Alexander
The Godt-Cleary Gallery at Mandalay Place presents an exhibition by light and space/finish fetish artist Peter Alexander from August until Sept. 30. Admission is free. 632-9378.
ArtStarts II
Children's artwork produced through Clark County Parks and Community Services recreation programming will be displayed from Monday to Sept. 3 in a program called "ArtStarts II" at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. A reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is free. 455-7340.
'Pursuit of Pleasure'
The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum at The Venetian is hosting an exhibit, "The Pursuit of Pleasure," which includes such artists as Picasso, Rodin, Rubens, Beckmann and Velazquez. Admission is $15 adults, $12 seniors and Nevada residents, $11 students with ID, $7 children 6-12, free for children under 6. The exhibit continues until Jan. 16. 414-2440.
Cigar exhibit
