DR Partners, an affiliate of the Las Vegas Review-Journal's parent company Stephens Group Inc., has exercised its right to require Atlanta-based Cox Communications Inc. to buy DR's 25 percent stake in TCA Cable Partners.
Cox, which holds the remaining 75 percent stake in TCA Cable, announced DR Partners' decision this week in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing said DR Partners' stake had been valued at about $186 million. The final price paid to DR Partners will be determined through negotiations, the filing said.
TCA operates cable systems in the southern United States, primarily in Arkansas, with about 260,000 customers, the filing said.
