Letter: Glad Ronstadt was ejected
Friday, July 23, 2004 | 8:57 a.m.
It's about time somebody stood up to entertainers using the stage to promote their political agendas instead of just entertaining us, which is what they get paid for. Way to go, Mr. Bill Timmins!
Somehow the entertainment industry has convoluted our desire to hear their voices into "We want to hear your political views." Nothing could be further from the truth.
Why don't they start telling us their religious veiws when they get on stage? I can hear it now: "I think what the Pope told you Catholics yesterday is leading you down the wrong path. So I'm dedicating this next song to the Islamic ways and the Ayatollah. Would everyone please bow to the East."
I'm glad Linda Ronstadt got booed and escorted out of the hotel. They all need to be booed off or dragged off stage when they stop entertaining and start preaching their personal beliefs.
