Letter: Aladdin’s actions threaten freedom
Friday, July 23, 2004 | 8:56 a.m.
I am outraged that the Aladdin management kicked Ms. Ronstadt from her room simply because it disagreed with her political views. We're taught we have the right to express our opinion, and I was taught to respect another person's opinion, even if I did not agree. If Ms. Ronstadt wanted to express a few opinions, fine. Those who threw cocktails and defaced her posters probably should go live in Iran.
The shallowness that I am observing in this city is becoming very scary. It is a threat to freedom when companies and individuals take such extreme measures as the Aladdin did with Ms. Ronstadt.
