Juanita C. Andrews

Juanita C. Andrews, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. An owner-operator of a building business, she was born May 30, 1919, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, Richard Andrews of Las Vegas.

A service of remembrance will be 3 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd.

Halley D. Buzick Jr.

Halley D. Buzick Jr., 89, of Pahrump died July 14 in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Pomona, Calif. A lifelong resident, he was a retired electrician and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Davis of Delta, Utah; one son, Halley Buzick III of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Choppy Crum

Choppy Crum, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 4, 1915, in Water Valley, Miss. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joy Moody of Las Vegas; one son, John Crum of Alpharetta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Becky Jean Dugan, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Valentine, Neb. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph L.; two daughters, Bridgett Dugan and Tracy Zahrt, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Sean Dugan and Casey Dugan, both of Las Vegas and Kelly Dugan of Boulder City; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Carol A. Guthrie of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her husband, George; one daughter, Rebecca Fernlund of Las Vegas; one son, Timothy Pavek of San Francisco; one sister, Harriett Hashimoto; one brother, William Glen; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Craig Scott Haupt, 48, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 23, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a Las Vegas Hilton employee.

He is survived by one son, Scott Haupt of Montrose, Colo.; his mother, Janice Allen, his father, Ernest Haupt, his stepfather, Fred B. Allen, and one brother, Gary L. Haupt, all of Las Vegas.

Charles M. Huddleston

Charles M. Huddleston, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1918, in LaFollette, Tenn. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired government electrical engineer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Huddleston of Hansville, Wash.; one stepson, Phillip Boyns of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Carol Brockett of Everett, Wash., and Patsy Smith and Joan Lindborg, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Stephen Johnson, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1957, in Modesto, Calif. A resident for 42 years, he was a hotel-casino maintenance engineer and a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 501.

He is survived by his wife, Tina; two sons, Christopher Stephen Johnson and Jacob Bob Johnson, one daughter, Sarah Ann Johnson, and his parents, Bob and Reola Joyhnson, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Michael Ray Johnson of Pahrump.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Raymond Larkin

Raymond Larkin, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Sapulpa, Okla. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired pit boss and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one son, Curt; three daughters, Rhonda Saville and Shannon Larkin, both of Las Vegas and Tomajean Bandolin of Denver; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jessie J. Matthews, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 3, 1937, in Meridian, Miss. A resident for six years, he was a retired General Motors tool and die maker and a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department school crossing guard.

He is survived by his wife, Betty S.; four sons, Derrick Matthews, Earl Wood, Jonathan Wood and Stephen Wood; one daughter, Serbrina Ransfer; two sisters; two brothers; and several grandchildren.

Charlotte W. McCann, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 8, 1912, in Stewartsville, Mo. A resident for 61 years, she was a retired musician, a music teacher, an organist for the First Baptist Church, the Christian Science Church, Temple Beth Sholom, weddings and local mortuaries.

She is survived by one son, Gary McCann of Las Vegas; one daughter, Karen McCann Mysinger of Rainier, Ore.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Aldena Rae McCormick, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in a hospital. She was born May 16, 1942, in Lincoln, Neb. A resident for 14 years, she was a sales associate.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Otto Shaffer Jr. of Rio Linda, Calif., and Patrick Richards of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two daughters, Tami Shaffer of Sacramento and Terrie Shaffer of Las Vegas; her mother, Ardith Klappenbach of Tracy, Calif.; two sisters, Norma Burns of Tracy and Kathrine Howe of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Clyde Howe of Pleasant Valley, Calif., and Jerry Howe of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Frances V. Nichols, 86, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Maybrook, N.Y. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, David Nichols of Osprey, Fla.; one daughter, Linda Bosco of Henderson; and four grandchildren.

Edna Elaine Nielson

Edna Elaine Nielson, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Pocatello, Idaho. A resident for 52 years, she was a homemaker and a PBX operator.

She is survived by two sons, Ted E. Nielson and Terry Lyn Nielson, and two daughters, Sandra Hanes and Joyce Spangler, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Don Broadhead of Las Vegas and Buck Broadhead of North Las Vegas; one sister, Maryan Holiday of North Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in the Christy/Kell LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Daniel W. Nowlin

Daniel W. Nowlin, 64, of Searchlight died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Spiro, Okla. A resident for four years, he was a retired Navy senior chief petty officer and Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Fleet Reserve, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, M. Joyce; two daughters, Dianne L. Nowlin of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Leanne D. Croker of Los Banos, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Grace Parsons, 80, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 10, 1924, in Harlingen, Texas. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Wilson of Henderson; two sons, Leon Parsons of San Francisco and Anthony Mendoza of Henderson; three sisters, Adel Marshall and Felipa Adame, both of Austin, Texas, and Delores Burleson of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ronald "Doc" Paul, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Qutezza, Albania. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired barber shop owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Stasia; two daughters, Sandra Duchesne and Janet Paul, both of Las Vegas; one son, Thomas Paul of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Kelsey Jane Roberts

Kelsey Jane Roberts, 6, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 9, 1998, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a student at Robert E. Lake Elementary School.

She is survived by her parents, Gerelyn and Timothy Roberts of Las Vegas; one sister, Nicole Yvonne Mizner of Auburn, Calif.; two brothers, Timothy Roberts Jr. of Cape May, N.J., and Carter Roberts of Haford, Calif.; her grandparents, Nenita and Steve Larson of Las Vegas and Gail and William Alford of Klamath Falls, Ore.; her godmother, Sabrina Markey; her godfather, Joey Zachanini, and one uncle, Robert Bushong, all of Las Vegas.

Margaret Schweppe, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Plover, Iowa. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired credit manager at a lumber company, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Nevada Federation and Vegas Valley Business and Professional Women.

She is survived by one daughter, Rose Anna Cirac, and two sons, Merrill Schweppe and Elliott Schweppe, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Doris Henderson of Pocahontas, Iowa, and Dorothy Lou Pedersen and alice Witt, both of Rolfe, Iowa; two brothers, Fred McKim of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and Frank McKim of Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Edward W. Stafford, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Holdenville, Okla. He was born March 1, 1931, in Drake, Ky. A resident for many years, he owned a transmission shop.

He is survived by his wife, Betty June; three sons, Joe W. Stafford, Michael Stafford and Eugene Stafford; three daughters, Shirley Stafford and Gayle Darin, both of Nevada and Karen Orallo of Texas; 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Hettie Story, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1918, in Floydada, Texas. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired engineer for an aerospace development company.

She is survived by two daughters, Janette Smith of Lakewood, Calif., and Barbara Wilson of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sons, Jerry Collins of Las Vegas and Q. Keith Collins of Clovis, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Tanner of Las Vegas.

Lucille Tuerck, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 17, 1925, in New York City. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired teller in the banking industry.

She is survived by one son, Frederck Tuerck, one daughter, Shirley Tuerck, and one sister, Mary Kopriva, all of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Judith A. Wells

Judith A. Wells, 65, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died Sunday in a hospice. She was born in Lancaster, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a retired owner-operator of Wells Warwick House Restaurant in Pennsylvania and most recently worked at Clark County Community College.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan R. Eberly Jr. of Lititz, Pa., and Barbara Wells Barnes of Las Vegas; one son, Toby Wells of Las Vegas; her mother, Margaret Ellen Miller of Lancaster; one brother, S. Douglass Miller of Lancaster, Pa.

Priscilla White

Priscilla White, 53, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 11, 1951, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 52 years, she was a caregiver.

She is survived by two sons, Orlando Kincey and Antonio Kincey; two daughters, Telechia Donaldson and Kariema Brown; six sisters, Ruby Winston, Delores Williams, Renee Odunaga, Linda Brown, Clotelle Baxter and Lucille "Molly" Baxter; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
