Sears, Roebuck & Co. plans to open its Sears Grand concept store next week in suburban western Las Vegas. The 165,000-square-foot Sears Grand store is at West Flamingo Road, west of Interstate 215 in the Grand Canyon Parkway shopping center being developed by Triple Five Development Corp.
The Las Vegas Sears Grand store is the third such store nationwide to open, company officials said. The store will open Monday and will celebrate its grand opening July 31 with events and prizes.
Like Target and Kmart stores with groceries, Sears Grand will have "convenience" items such as milk, soda, greeting cards and health and beauty products while still selling its appliances, apparel, lawn and garden supplies, tools and automotive products.
