Family film
The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services Cultural Affairs Division presents "Scooby-Doo" at 2 p.m. Thursday at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., as part of its "Summer Children's Film Series." Admission is free. 229-1515.
Book signing
Author Mel Fisher will sign copies of his book, "Fatal Treasure," between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday at the District at Green Valley Ranch Station Casino. 293-0260.
Pioneer crafts
The North Las Vegas Library District will host Pioneer Crafts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 2300 Civic Center Drive. Participants will learn to spin wool, grind wheat and make corn husk dolls. Admission is free. 633-1070.
Poets' corner
Keith Brantley and Pendelita Toney will host a "Poets' Corner" for established poets and open-mike participants at 7:30 p.m. today at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is free. 229-4800.
'Coyote Tales'
The Cultural Affairs Division of the City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services presents "Coyote Tales" at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Native American tales will be told with puppets and music. Admission is $3. 229-6383.
'Peter Pan'
The Cultural Affairs Division of the City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services presents "Peter Pan" at 8 p.m. Thursday at Jaycee Park, at the corner of Eastern and St. Louis avenues, as part of its "Family Film Series."
'Amazing Castle'
The traveling interactive exhibit, "The Amazing Castle," continues until Aug. 29 at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is $6 adults, $5 children 1-17, seniors and military families. 382-3445.
Tai Chi classes
Free classes in the martial art Tai Chi will be taught from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the District at Green Valley Ranch, near the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Interstate 215. 851-3082.
