Blood drives scheduled

Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Costco, 222 S. Martin Luther King; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Primm Valley Resort, 31900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Sign language storytelling set
Sign Design Theater will hold a free presentation at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas.
Student performers will present programs combining American Sign Language with storytelling and theater.
The entire family is welcome to attend.

'Kiss Me Kate' benefit Sunday
American Red Cross Southern Nevada chapter presents the musical "Kiss Me Kate" at 6 p.m. Sunday at Spring Mountain Ranch in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to benefit victims of natural and man-made disasters in Southern Nevada while enjoying an evening under the stars with family, friends and co-workers.
Tickets which cost $11 (children 5 and under are free) may be obtained at any University of Nevada, Las Vegas ticket location (the Galleria at Sunset; Meadows Mall; Boulevard Mall; all Station Casino properties; Fiesta properties; or the Thomas & Mack box office) or online at www.unlvtickets.com, the Presitige Travel's Sun City office at 2221 N. NLV encourages Hispanic voters
North Las Vegas will hold a class from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas, to inform and encourage Hispanics to register to vote and participate in elections.
The free program is being coordinated and implemented by the City Clerk's office and includes a two-hour presentation to register new voters, cover basic knowledge of U.S. government, and provide general voting information.

Candidates to face questions
Charleston Neighborhood Preservation will host a question and answer session for Nevada State Assembly candidates from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the West Sahara Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.
Candidates are: Kirk Kaplan, Kevin Kennedy and Valerie Weber.

Folklore dance group to perform
Ballet Folklorico Benemerita of the Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
Ballet Folklorico Benemerita is one of Mexico's most distinguished folkloric dance companies. Under the direction of Marko Castillo and Victor Pueblo, the company covers the entire history of Mexican dance, from pre-Columbian Native Mexican dances celebrating nature and man's relation to it to the traditional dances of the Mexican middle class. The colorfully costumed productions have roused enthusiastic receptions from audiences and critics worldwide.
