Chabad to hold Shabbaton Friday
Chabad of Green Valley will hold a Shabbaton at 7 p.m. Friday at the Chabad Center, 10870 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 104.
Join other Jewish men and women, 50 years and over, singles and couples, to experience the event, which will feature a thought provoking lecture on "the Torah and Retirement."
Participants will also enjoy the tastes and smells of a four course, traditional Shabbat feast.
Chabad's purpose is to extend a welcoming and helping hand to all in a comfortable and informal atmosphere.
Admission is $25.

Career Fair set at Texas Station
The Southern Nevada Hispanic Employment Program, a scholarship partner of Community College of Southern Nevada, is presenting its second annual Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Texas Station.
The fair will give prospective employees the opportunity to meet various employers from the Las Vegas Valley. Job seekers are invited to attend and present their resumes to employers. SNHEP is also offering job seekers the opportunity to attend career enhancement workshops to help them make successful job searches.
Admission is free.

Christmas in July events planned
The Colonnade Square Shopping Center local businesses will celebrate Christmas in July from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and July 31 at the corner of Eastern and Pebble avenues.
The event will include entertainment, music, raffle drawings, digital photos with Santa and more.
All participating stores will be decorated for the holidays and will donate items or services for individual raffles and one grand prize drawing, which will be held at 5 p.m. July 31.

Genealogical group to discuss research
The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society will discuss researching at the Newberry Library from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.

Baptist choir to perform Sunday
Shadow Hills Baptist Church Celebration Choir and ensembles will present an evening of music and celebration of the Lord's Supper at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, 7811 W. Vegas Drive.
Free child care is offered for children pre-K and younger.
