Death of infant detailed

A Las Vegas mother of three accused of murdering her 2-month-old son in May heard testimony against her during a preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday.
Marcella Jackson is accused of killing her baby, Jaylen Faulkner, who after suffering two skull fractures from blows prosecutors contend Jackson delivered, died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
A medical expert testified the skull fractures were not the result of a fall or accident, but due to a blow the child received.
Prosecutors said Jackson, who also has a 3-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son, was home alone at the time of the killing.
Jackson's great aunt, Zelma Henry, testified she had witnessed Jackson hit her son in the past, but after finding Jaylen the day of the baby's death she knew quickly something more severe had occurred.
Henry said after rubbing Jaylen's back, "he seemed to be coming around quite well," but when she saw his eyes roll back, she immediately called 911.
Jackson had apparently been the subject of multiple investigations by Child Protective Services from 2001 to 2003, but in only one of those cases was it determined that Jackson had abused her children, court records show.
