Letter: Bush not helping health care crisis
Tuesday, July 13, 2004 | 8:53 a.m.
The health care crisis in the United States is rapidly getting worse. George W. Bush's policies represent a danger to the general health of citizens of the United States and the world.
Not only has this administration failed to address the growing number of uninsured in the United States (now more than 60 million persons), his Medicare bill diverts billions of dollars from patients to the insurance and pharmaceutical companies, already among the most wealthy and profitable companies in the world.
In addition, George Bush's illegal and immoral invasion and occupation of Iraq has siphoned off billions of dollars that could be used to improve our health care system here in the US, which by any analysis is in crisis.
Finally, President Bush's environmental policies have left us with dirtier water and air, which will lead to health problems in our population for years to come.
I am strongly supporting John Kerry for president. I believe he has a health care plan that, although not perfect, is 100 times better than George Bush's. Actually, Bush never did have any health care plan for the American citizens.
